Job Description
We are actively seeking a dedicated and compassionate Cardiac Catheterization Lab Nurse to join our esteemed team in Boulder, CO. This is a unique opportunity for skilled nurses, including those needing sponsorship, to advance their careers in a state-of-the-art cardiac facility. As a Cath Lab Nurse, you will play a critical role in providing comprehensive care to patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures. You will work alongside cardiologists, cardiovascular technologists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional patient outcomes. This position requires strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and a commitment to patient safety and education. Key Responsibilities
- Assist physicians during cardiac catheterization procedures, including angioplasty, stenting, and other interventions.
- Monitor patients' vital signs, EKG, and hemodynamic status throughout procedures.
- Administer medications as directed by the physician and manage patient response.
- Educate patients and families on pre- and post-procedure care, potential complications, and lifestyle modifications.
- Prepare patients for procedures, ensuring all necessary documentation and consents are complete.
- Recover patients post-procedure, monitoring for complications and providing necessary interventions.
- Maintain sterile technique and ensure proper functioning of all equipment.
- Document all aspects of patient care accurately and thoroughly in the electronic health record.
- Participate in emergency response within the Cath Lab setting.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient care.
Required Skills
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license or eligibility for licensure in Colorado
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-stress environment
- Commitment to patient-centered care and safety
- Demonstrated ability to learn and adapt to new technologies and procedures
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in critical care, emergency medicine, or telemetry
- Previous experience in a Cardiac Catheterization Lab or Electrophysiology Lab setting
- Certifications such as Cardiac Vascular Nurse (CVN) or Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN)
