Job Description
We are seeking a highly creative and experienced Senior Video Editor to join our dynamic marketing and communications team in Cambridge, UK. The ideal candidate will possess a strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in crafting compelling visual narratives, a deep understanding of post-production workflows, and the ability to mentor junior team members. You will be responsible for bringing our stories to life through high-quality video content, from initial concept to final delivery, ensuring brand consistency and audience engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end video editing process for a variety of projects, including promotional content, internal communications, documentaries, and social media campaigns.
- Collaborate closely with producers, marketing managers, and creative directors to understand project objectives and deliver visually stunning results.
- Mentor and provide constructive feedback to junior editors, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and skill development.
- Manage and organize media assets, ensuring efficient workflows and adherence to best practices for archival and retrieval.
- Oversee color grading, sound design, motion graphics integration, and final output to various platforms.
- Stay current with industry trends, software advancements, and emerging video techniques to continuously elevate our content quality.
- Contribute to the strategic development of video content, offering innovative ideas and solutions.
Required Skills
- Minimum 6 years of professional video editing experience.
- Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Audition.
- Demonstrated ability to craft compelling narratives and evoke emotion through video.
- Strong understanding of video production, post-production workflows, and file management.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in color correction and grading techniques.
- Solid understanding of sound design principles and audio mixing.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Film Production, Media Arts, or a related field.
- Experience working with corporate or technology brands.
- Knowledge of 3D animation software (e.g., Cinema 4D, Blender).
- Experience with virtual reality (VR) or augmented reality (AR) video content.
- A portfolio showcasing diverse video projects and creative storytelling.
