Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Mining Engineer to join our dynamic team in Port St. Lucie, FL. The role involves contributing to various phases of mining-related projects, from feasibility studies and design to operational support and environmental remediation. The successful candidate will work on projects that may include mine planning, resource estimation, geotechnical analysis, and the implementation of sustainable mining practices, all while adhering to the highest safety and environmental standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct feasibility studies, economic evaluations, and risk assessments for new and existing mining projects.
- Develop detailed mine plans, including pit design, sequencing, and production scheduling.
- Perform geological and geotechnical analysis to assess ground stability and optimize mining methods.
- Design and optimize mining infrastructure, including waste dumps, tailings facilities, and haul roads.
- Utilize mining software for resource modeling, mine planning, and simulation.
- Monitor and analyze operational performance, identifying opportunities for efficiency and cost reduction.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation for clients and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, including geologists, environmental scientists, and civil engineers.
- Provide technical support and guidance during project implementation and construction phases.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in mining engineering.
- Proficiency in mining software (e.g., AutoCAD, Deswik, MineSight, Vulcan, Surpac).
- Strong understanding of mining methods, operations, and economics.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate complex technical information clearly.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and environmental stewardship.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Mining Engineering or a related discipline.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain one.
- Experience with environmental impact assessments and reclamation planning.
- Knowledge of digital twins and advanced data analytics in mining.
- Fluency in additional languages relevant to international project work.
