Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Ice Block Bagging Worker to join our cold storage facility in Alexandria. This entry-level position is crucial to our operations, involving the bagging and preparation of ice blocks for distribution. You will work in a chilled environment, requiring the use of waterproof gear, which will be provided. Full training will be given to ensure you are comfortable and proficient in all tasks. Key Responsibilities
- Operate bagging machinery to package ice blocks efficiently and accurately.
- Monitor product quality and ensure all bags are properly sealed and labeled.
- Handle and stack packaged ice blocks onto pallets for storage or dispatch.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area within the cold factory.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and food hygiene standards.
- Assist with inventory checks and stock rotation as required.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
Required Skills
- Ability to work effectively in a cold environment (temperatures below 0°C).
- Physical fitness to lift and move heavy bags (up to 15-20kg) repeatedly.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in bagging and labeling.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
- Basic understanding of workplace safety procedures.
- Willingness to wear provided waterproof and thermal gear.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a factory, warehouse, or cold storage environment is a plus but not essential.
- Forklift license (LF) would be advantageous, though not required for this specific role.
- Food handling certificate is beneficial.
