Job Description
BrightView Landscape Services is seeking enthusiastic individuals to join our team as a Grounds Maintenance Worker / Trainee Gardener in San Diego, CA. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about working outdoors, maintaining beautiful landscapes, and eager to learn the fundamentals of professional gardening and groundskeeping. No prior experience is required – we provide comprehensive training to help you grow into a skilled professional. As a Trainee Gardener, you will work alongside experienced professionals, contributing to the upkeep and enhancement of various commercial and residential properties throughout San Diego. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys physical work, being part of a dedicated team, and seeing the tangible results of their efforts in creating stunning outdoor environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform basic grounds maintenance tasks under supervision, including mowing, edging, weeding, pruning, and blowing.
- Assist in the planting of flowers, shrubs, and trees.
- Learn to operate and maintain various landscaping equipment safely and efficiently.
- Participate in property clean-up efforts, including debris removal and waste disposal.
- Support irrigation system checks and basic repairs as needed.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
- Work effectively as part of a team to complete daily tasks and projects.
- Show initiative and a strong desire to learn new skills in horticulture and landscape maintenance.
Required Skills
- Physical ability to perform demanding outdoor work, including lifting, bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods in various weather conditions.
