Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled HVAC Technician to join our dynamic team in Newark, New Jersey. As an HVAC Technician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing various heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. Key Responsibilities
- Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain residential and commercial HVAC systems, including split systems, package units, boilers, chillers, and refrigeration units.
- Perform preventive maintenance on HVAC equipment to ensure efficient operation and extend lifespan.
- Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical faults in HVAC systems.
- Calibrate thermostats and other controls; test pipes and connections for leaks.
- Document all service and repair actions, including time, materials, and recommendations.
- Communicate effectively with clients regarding system issues, repairs, and maintenance plans.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations while on job sites.
- Participate in on-call rotation as required.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior technicians when appropriate.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as an HVAC Technician or similar role (minimum 2 years).
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems, components, and their functions.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Proficiency in diagnosing electrical and mechanical issues.
- Familiarity with various refrigerants and their handling procedures.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- HVAC certification from an accredited technical school or equivalent.
- EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification.
- Experience with building management systems (BMS).
- Customer service-oriented approach with strong communication skills.
- Ability to work in diverse environments and adapt to changing conditions.
