Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Incident Response Coordinator to join our critical operations team in Elizabeth, NJ. This role is pivotal in ensuring the swift and effective management of operational incidents across our transport network. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating response efforts, documenting incidents, and collaborating with various departments to mitigate risks and restore normal operations quickly and efficiently. This position demands a keen eye for detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for operational incidents, coordinating immediate response actions.
- Categorize, prioritize, and escalate incidents according to established protocols.
- Facilitate communication channels between affected departments, external partners, and senior management during incident resolution.
- Document all incident details, including timelines, actions taken, and resolutions, maintaining comprehensive incident logs.
- Participate in post-incident reviews to identify root causes and contribute to the development of preventative measures.
- Develop and maintain incident response plans, playbooks, and standard operating procedures.
- Monitor real-time operational dashboards and alerts to proactively identify potential issues.
- Train and mentor team members on incident response best practices and tools.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in incident management, operations coordination, or a related field, preferably within the transport or logistics industry.
- Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple critical incidents simultaneously.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities under pressure.
- Proficiency in incident tracking software and communication platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related technical field.
- Experience with ITIL framework or other incident management methodologies.
- Knowledge of transportation regulations and industry-specific challenges.
- Certifications in project management or incident response.
