Job Description
We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Federal Emergency Supply Coordinator to join our Disaster Logistics division in London, Ontario. This critical role involves managing the acquisition, storage, and distribution of essential supplies during federal emergency and disaster response operations. The successful candidate will be instrumental in ensuring that vital resources reach affected areas promptly and efficiently, adhering to strict federal guidelines and protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate with federal agencies and partners to determine supply needs during emergency situations.
- Manage inventory of emergency supplies, including medical equipment, food, water, and shelter materials.
- Develop and implement logistics plans for the rapid deployment of supplies to disaster zones.
- Oversee the procurement process for new supplies, ensuring compliance with federal contracting regulations.
- Monitor supply chain performance, identifying and addressing potential bottlenecks or issues.
- Maintain detailed records of supply movements, inventory levels, and operational costs.
- Train and supervise junior logistics staff or volunteers during deployment phases.
- Prepare comprehensive reports on supply chain activities and resource utilization for federal stakeholders.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in logistics, supply chain management, or emergency preparedness.
- Strong understanding of inventory management and warehouse operations.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to rapidly changing circumstances.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
- Valid G-class driver's license and ability to travel as required during emergencies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience working with government contracts or federal agencies.
- Certification in logistics or supply chain management (e.g., SCMP, CSCP).
- Familiarity with disaster response protocols and emergency management frameworks in Canada.
