Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate NDIS Plan Manager with a strong financial focus to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for managing NDIS plans, processing invoices, tracking expenditure, and providing expert financial guidance to participants. You will ensure funds are utilized effectively, compliantly, and in line with individual goals, empowering participants to maximize their NDIS funding.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of NDIS participants, overseeing the financial administration of their plans.
- Process invoices and track expenditure against NDIS budgets accurately and efficiently.
- Provide clear, concise, and accessible financial statements and reports to participants and their families.
- Assist participants in understanding their NDIS plan budget and making informed spending decisions.
- Monitor plan utilization and identify potential issues or opportunities for better fund management.
- Liaise with support coordinators, service providers, and NDIA to ensure seamless plan implementation.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of NDIS guidelines, policies, and pricing arrangements.
- Ensure all financial transactions comply with NDIS rules and regulatory requirements.
- Educate participants on NDIS processes, their rights, and responsibilities regarding their plan funds.
- Handle participant enquiries and resolve financial discrepancies or concerns with professionalism.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a financial administration, bookkeeping, or NDIS plan management role.
- Strong understanding of financial principles and budget management.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial processing.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to explain complex financial information simply.
- Demonstrated empathy and a person-centred approach when working with people with disabilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Current National Police Check and Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain).
Preferred Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Previous experience specifically within the NDIS sector.
- Familiarity with NDIS portals and relevant payment systems.
- Knowledge of disability services and support systems in Australia.
