Job Description
Join our dedicated team as an Event Bumping Assistant, playing a crucial role in the seamless setup and teardown of theatre productions and live events across the Campbelltown area. This is a physically demanding role primarily involving night shifts, focused on the efficient and safe movement and positioning of various stage equipment, set pieces, lighting, and sound gear. No prior experience is required as comprehensive on-the-job training will be provided to all successful candidates. Key Responsibilities
- Assisting with the careful loading and unloading of trucks with event equipment, including staging, sound, and lighting gear.
- Safely moving and accurately positioning stage equipment, set pieces, props, and technical apparatus within various theatre and event venues.
- Following precise instructions from stage managers, technical directors, and crew leaders to ensure efficient and timely setup and teardown.
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work area during all bump-in and bump-out operations.
- Adhering strictly to all company safety protocols, manual handling guidelines, and venue-specific regulations.
- Assisting with the basic assembly and disassembly of stage elements, risers, and other event structures as directed.
Required Skills
- Physical fitness and the ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 25kg) comfortably and safely.
- Exceptional reliability and punctuality, particularly for night shifts and varied schedules.
- A strong ability to work collaboratively and effectively as part of a close-knit team.
- High attention to detail and a proactive, safety-conscious attitude at all times.
- An eagerness to learn new skills and the capacity to take direction efficiently.
- Flexibility to work non-standard hours, including evenings, late nights, and weekends, based on event schedules.
Preferred Qualifications
- Some prior experience in a warehouse, logistics, removals, or other physically demanding labor role is a plus, but not essential.
- A basic understanding or interest in theatre production, live events, or stagecraft.
- A current driver's license and access to reliable personal transport.
