Job Description
We are seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic Entry Level Activities Coordinator to join our dedicated team at Extendicare Sault Ste. Marie. This full-time position is perfect for individuals who are passionate about engaging with seniors and eager to make a positive impact on their daily lives. No prior experience is required, as we provide comprehensive training to equip you with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed. You will play a crucial role in planning, organizing, and leading a variety of recreational and social programs designed to promote the physical, mental, and social well-being of our residents. Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the planning and implementation of a diverse range of recreational, social, and therapeutic activities for residents.
- Lead group activities, individual one-on-one sessions, and special events.
- Encourage resident participation and engagement in programs, adapting activities to meet varying needs and abilities.
- Build positive relationships with residents, their families, and staff.
- Prepare activity areas, gather necessary supplies, and ensure a safe and welcoming environment.
- Document resident participation and observations, contributing to care planning.
- Assist residents with transportation to and from activity programs.
- Maintain activity equipment and supplies, ensuring cleanliness and good repair.
- Contribute to a positive and supportive team environment.
