Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Equipment Delivery & Setup Driver to join our team in Sudbury, Ontario. In this essential role, you will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery, setup, and occasional minor repair of medical equipment, with a primary focus on hospital beds, to our clients’ homes and care facilities. You will interact directly with patients and their families, providing instructions on equipment use and ensuring a positive experience. This position requires strong attention to detail, excellent customer service skills, and the physical ability to handle and maneuver various types of medical equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely transport medical equipment, including hospital beds, oxygen concentrators, wheelchairs, and other home healthcare devices, to client residences and facilities.
- Perform professional and courteous in-home setup and installation of equipment, ensuring proper functionality and patient safety.
- Provide clear and concise instructions to clients and caregivers on the safe and effective operation of equipment.
- Conduct basic troubleshooting and minor repairs on equipment as needed.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, service reports, and other required documentation.
- Ensure company vehicles are well-maintained, clean, and stocked with necessary tools and supplies.
- Adhere to all company policies, safety protocols, and regulatory standards.
- Represent Shoppers Home Health Care with professionalism and empathy at all times.
- Participate in on-call rotation as required.
Required Skills
- Valid Class G Driver's License (Ontario) with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull heavy equipment (up to 75 lbs) independently and with assistance.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate approach.
- Basic mechanical aptitude for equipment assembly and troubleshooting.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Punctual and reliable.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in medical equipment delivery, installation, or a similar field.
- Experience working in a healthcare or customer service environment.
- Familiarity with the Sudbury and surrounding areas.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Post-secondary education or trade certification.
