Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Government Environmental Support – Green Focus. This role is crucial in providing administrative and technical support to our environmental programs, initiatives, and regulatory processes. You will contribute directly to projects focused on conservation, sustainable practices, and environmental compliance, playing a vital role in safeguarding the natural beauty and ecological health of the Northern Territory. This position is ideal for someone passionate about environmental protection and looking to build a career in government environmental services.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the coordination and administration of environmental projects and programs.
- Conduct research and gather data related to environmental policies, regulations, and best practices.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and correspondence on environmental matters for internal and external stakeholders.
- Support the assessment and monitoring of environmental impacts, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
- Organize and maintain environmental data, records, and documentation systems.
- Facilitate communication between internal departments, government agencies, and community groups on environmental issues.
- Participate in field visits and site inspections as required, providing logistical and administrative support.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of 'green' initiatives within the Authority's operations.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications
- A tertiary qualification in environmental science, environmental management, natural resource management, or a related field.
- Previous experience in an administrative or support role, particularly within a government or environmental organization.
- Familiarity with environmental legislation and policies in Australia, particularly the Northern Territory.
- Experience with database management or Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software.
