Job Description
Cisco is seeking a dedicated Cybersecurity Analyst to join our dynamic security operations team in San Jose, CA. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to contribute to the protection of our global infrastructure, data, and users. You will play a crucial role in monitoring, detecting, analyzing, and responding to cyber threats. Key Responsibilities
- Monitor security systems and tools for alerts, anomalies, and potential security incidents.
- Perform initial triage, investigation, and analysis of security events and alerts.
- Participate in incident response activities, including containment, eradication, and recovery.
- Assist in vulnerability management processes, including scanning, reporting, and tracking remediation.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of security policies, procedures, and documentation.
- Administer and maintain various security tools and technologies (e.g., SIEM, EDR, firewalls).
- Collaborate with IT and other teams to implement security best practices and solutions.
- Stay informed about the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies.
Required Skills
- Fundamental understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP)
- Knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Linux) and their security features
- Familiarity with cybersecurity concepts, including common attack vectors and defense mechanisms
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field
- Industry certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CySA+, or CCNA Security
- Experience with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) platforms
- Basic scripting skills (e.g., Python, PowerShell)
- Familiarity with cloud security principles (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Understanding of forensic methodologies and tools
