Job Description
Join our dedicated team at Huntington Health as an Entry-Level Patient Transporter! This is an immediate hire opportunity for individuals with no prior experience in healthcare. We are looking for compassionate and reliable individuals eager to learn and make a difference in patients’ lives. As a Patient Transporter, you will play a crucial role in ensuring patients are safely and comfortably moved throughout our facility for various appointments, procedures, and discharges. Full training will be provided to help you succeed in this essential role.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently transport patients via wheelchair, gurney, or bed to and from various hospital departments (e.g., radiology, surgery, admissions, discharge).
- Assist patients with transferring to and from transport equipment, ensuring their comfort and dignity.
- Communicate effectively and courteously with patients, families, and hospital staff.
- Ensure transport equipment is clean, functional, and readily available.
- Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and safety guidelines, including infection control protocols.
- Respond promptly to transport requests and manage time effectively to maintain workflow.
- Report any equipment malfunctions, patient concerns, or unusual occurrences to appropriate staff.

Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification (can be obtained after hire).
- Previous experience in a customer service role.
