Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Computer Science Teacher to join our esteemed faculty. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver engaging computer science lessons to students of varying abilities.
- Design, administer, and grade tests, assignments, and projects to assess student progress.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and critical thinking.
- Integrate current industry trends and technologies into the curriculum.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance interdisciplinary learning and curriculum development.
- Participate in extracurricular activities, clubs, or school events related to computer science or technology.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and behavioral observations.
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student performance and progress.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Education, or a related field.
- Demonstrated knowledge of programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, C++).
- Familiarity with computer science concepts such as data structures, algorithms, and computational thinking.
- Excellent classroom management and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to inspire and motivate students.
- Commitment to continuous professional development.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Computer Science Education or a related discipline.
- Teaching certification/license recognized in Ontario or eligibility for one.
- Experience with educational technology platforms and virtual learning environments.
- Experience teaching advanced placement (AP) or International Baccalaureate (IB) computer science courses.
- Familiarity with current educational pedagogies and best practices in STEM education.
