Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and physically capable Livestock Feed Hand to join our team on the Gold Coast. This is a casual position offering day shifts, ideal for individuals who are reliable, hardworking, and enjoy hands-on outdoor work. As a Feed Hand, you will play a crucial role in the daily care and feeding of livestock, ensuring their health and well-being. This role requires a strong work ethic, the ability to perform physically demanding tasks, and a commitment to animal welfare. Full training will be provided to the successful candidate, making this an excellent opportunity for those looking to start a career in the agricultural sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and distribute feed to various types of livestock according to established schedules and dietary requirements.
- Monitor livestock for any signs of illness, injury, or distress and report observations to supervisors.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of feeding areas, pens, and equipment.
- Assist with the movement and handling of livestock as required.
- Operate basic farm machinery and equipment safely (training provided).
- Perform general yard maintenance and other physical tasks as directed.
- Adhere to all animal welfare guidelines and safety protocols.
- Accurately record feed consumption and other relevant data.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Punctual and able to commit to casual day shifts.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Basic communication skills.
- Willingness to learn and follow instructions.
- Access to reliable transport.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working with animals or in an outdoor physical role (not essential, but an advantage).
- Current driver's license (manual preferred but not essential).
