Job Description
Join our dynamic events team at Loews Ventana Canyon Resort as a Wedding Venue Setup Assistant. This is a physically demanding, part-time role primarily focused on weekend shifts, ensuring our wedding venues are perfectly prepared for each special occasion. You will be responsible for the efficient and careful setup and breakdown of tables, chairs, staging, and decorative elements according to event specifications. This role requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Full training will be provided to ensure you are confident in all aspects of the role.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute the precise setup of wedding ceremony and reception spaces, including tables, chairs, linens, and decor, according to event diagrams and supervisor instructions.
- Efficiently break down event spaces post-event, carefully storing equipment and maintaining inventory.
- Transport various items, including furniture, boxes of decor, and other event supplies, across the venue.
- Ensure all equipment is clean, well-maintained, and properly stored.
- Assist with general cleaning and organization of event storage areas.
- Work closely with event planners, catering staff, and other team members to ensure seamless event execution.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and resort standards.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) repeatedly throughout a shift.
- Strong physical stamina and endurance for standing, walking, bending, and kneeling for extended periods.
- Reliability and punctuality, especially for weekend shifts.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately.
- Strong work ethic and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
- Attention to detail to ensure setups are perfect.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a physical labor role, hospitality, or event setup.
- Ability to operate basic event equipment (e.g., dollies, hand trucks).
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
