Job Description
We are seeking enthusiastic and reliable Stagehand Assistants to join our casual event crew based in Dandenong. This role involves assisting with the physical setup and pack down of various event equipment, including staging, lighting, audio, and video systems. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain experience in the live events industry, requiring a strong work ethic, physical fitness, and a can-do attitude. Full training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the loading and unloading of event equipment from trucks and storage facilities.
- Support the technical team in setting up and dismantling stages, rigging, lighting fixtures, and audio equipment.
- Follow instructions from crew chiefs and technicians to ensure efficient and safe event setup.
- Perform general site duties, including maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines during all stages of event production.
- Be a proactive and cooperative member of the event crew, assisting where needed.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting and carrying heavy equipment.
- Reliability and punctuality for scheduled shifts.
- Strong work ethic and a willingness to learn new skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills.
- A positive attitude and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
- No prior experience required – full training provided.
Preferred Qualifications
- Current Australian Construction Induction Card (White Card).
- Basic understanding of tools and equipment used in event production.
- Valid driver's license and own reliable transport.
- Previous experience in a manual labor or event support role (not essential but a plus).
