Job Description
Join DHL Express as an Aviation Parts Courier, a pivotal role ensuring the timely and secure delivery of critical aviation components. You will be responsible for transporting essential parts to and from airports, maintenance facilities, and suppliers, playing a crucial role in keeping the aviation industry moving. Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently transport aviation parts to designated locations, adhering to strict delivery schedules.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, ensuring maintenance and safety standards are met.
- Handle sensitive and high-value aviation components with utmost care, following all security protocols.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, manifest records, and complete necessary paperwork electronically or manually.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and other team members regarding delivery status or issues.
- Adhere to all local, national, and international traffic laws and company safety policies.
- Ensure the cleanliness and proper functioning of the company vehicle.
Required Skills
- Valid UK driving license with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience in a professional driving or courier role.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to lift and move packages weighing up to 25kg.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience with aviation logistics or handling high-value goods.
- Knowledge of Peterborough and surrounding areas.
- Experience with GPS and route optimization software.
- Security clearance or ability to pass stringent background checks (e.g., airside pass eligibility).
