Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Administrative Assistant to join our central administration team in a quiet office environment. This role is crucial for supporting the daily operations of the Lackawanna County Public Library System, contributing to the efficient functioning of our various programs and services. The successful candidate will handle a range of administrative tasks, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in all duties. This is an on-site position ideal for someone who thrives in a structured and calm setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and organize office files, both physical and digital, ensuring easy retrieval and compliance with record-keeping policies.
  • Prepare, proofread, and distribute various documents, reports, and correspondence for senior staff and library branches.
  • Schedule and coordinate meetings, prepare agendas, and take accurate minutes.
  • Assist with data entry, maintaining databases, and generating reports as needed.
  • Handle incoming communications, including phone calls and emails, directing inquiries to appropriate personnel.
  • Order and maintain office supplies inventory, ensuring adequate stock levels.
  • Support special projects and initiatives as directed by administrative leadership.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and documents.
