Job Description
We are seeking dedicated and vigilant Security Officers to join our team in Busselton, focusing on Public Sector Security for National Safety initiatives. This role involves safeguarding government assets, infrastructure, and personnel, ensuring compliance with national safety protocols, and contributing to the overall security posture of key public sector operations. The successful candidate will be a critical part of a team committed to maintaining a secure environment and responding effectively to potential threats.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular patrols and surveillance of designated public sector facilities and areas.
- Monitor security systems, including CCTV, alarms, and access control, responding to alerts promptly.
- Enforce access control policies, verifying identification and authorizing entry for approved personnel and visitors.
- Identify and report suspicious activities, security breaches, or potential hazards.
- Respond to emergencies, including medical incidents, fires, and security threats, following established protocols.
- Prepare detailed incident reports and daily logs.
- Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency services as required.
- Provide assistance and information to the public in a professional and courteous manner.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant security regulations, company policies, and national safety standards.
Required Skills
- Current Australian Security Licence (Class 1AC or equivalent)
- Demonstrated experience in security operations, preferably within a public sector or critical infrastructure environment (minimum 12 months).
- Excellent observational and report-writing skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure.
- Proficiency in using security equipment and technology (CCTV, access control systems).
- Valid First Aid and CPR certifications.
- Australian unrestricted driver's licence.
- Physical fitness to perform duties including standing, walking, and occasional lifting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certificate III in Security Operations or equivalent qualification.
- Experience with incident command systems.
- Previous experience in government or large corporate security roles.
- Training in conflict resolution and de-escalation techniques.
