Job Description

Are you an aspiring fashion designer with a passion for bringing concepts to life through pattern making and studio work? Bardot is seeking a motivated and creative Fashion Design Intern to join our Wodonga studio team. This is an unparalleled opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced fashion environment, working closely with experienced designers and technicians. You will contribute to various stages of the design process, from initial concept development to final garment production, with a specific focus on pattern creation and studio assistance. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist senior designers with research and concept development for upcoming collections.
  • Support the pattern making team in creating, modifying, and digitizing patterns.
  • Learn to interpret design sketches into technical flats and specifications.
  • Aid in preparing fabric swatches, mood boards, and presentation materials.
  • Organize and maintain the design studio, fabric library, and sample archives.
  • Assist with fittings, take notes, and document revisions.
  • Contribute to general studio tasks and project support as needed.

Required Skills

  • Basic understanding of fashion design principles and garment construction.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop) is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Eagerness to learn and a proactive attitude.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a studio environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a fashion design or related program.
  • Basic knowledge of pattern making software (e.g., Gerber, Optitex) or manual pattern drafting.
  • Prior experience (academic projects, personal work) with sewing and garment finishing.
