Job Description
As a Ghost Kitchen Expo / Order Expediter, you will be the critical link between our kitchen operations and the delivery network. Your primary goal will be to ensure every order is accurate, packaged correctly, and dispatched efficiently to the correct delivery driver. This role requires quick thinking, excellent organizational skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. You will utilize advanced order management systems and collaborate closely with kitchen staff and delivery personnel.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all outgoing orders, ensuring they are complete and meet quality standards.
- Efficiently manage the order dispatch process using proprietary software and tablets, coordinating with multiple delivery platforms.
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to monitor order readiness and address any delays or discrepancies.
- Verify order accuracy, package integrity, and ensure correct labeling before handover to delivery drivers.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient expo station, adhering to all health and safety guidelines.
- Troubleshoot minor order issues and provide quick resolutions to maintain service speed.
- Assist with inventory checks and stock rotation in the expo area as needed.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a fast-paced restaurant, hospitality, or logistics environment.
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to multitask and manage time effectively under pressure.
- Proficiency with basic computer applications and the ability to quickly learn new software and tablet-based systems.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Proactive problem-solver with a positive attitude.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as an expediter, food runner, or similar role in a high-volume setting.
- Familiarity with various food delivery platforms (e.g., Uber Eats, DoorDash, Grubhub).
- Experience with point-of-sale (POS) systems or kitchen display systems (KDS).
