Job Description
We are seeking enthusiastic and reliable individuals to join our team as a Green Waste Sorter. This part-time, outdoor role involves working with a dedicated team to sort and process green waste materials at our facility in Mount Barker. You will be responsible for ensuring that organic materials are separated correctly, contributing to our recycling and composting initiatives. No prior experience is required as full training will be provided, but a willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions and a commitment to safety are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Manually sort green waste materials, separating contaminants such as plastics, metals, and non-organic items.
- Operate sorting equipment safely and efficiently after receiving appropriate training.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
- Work collaboratively with team members to achieve daily processing targets.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to supervisors promptly.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including standing, bending, and lifting (up to 15kg) for extended periods.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Attention to detail to identify and separate different waste types.
- Ability to work effectively in an outdoor environment.
- Commitment to following safety guidelines and instructions.
- Basic communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a general labour or outdoor work setting (not essential, but valued).
- Understanding of basic waste sorting principles.
- Possession of a valid driver's license and own reliable transportation.
