Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Desalination & Water Purification Intern to join our dynamic team in Saskatoon. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for individuals passionate about water science and engineering, looking to gain hands-on experience in cutting-edge water treatment technologies. You will work alongside experienced engineers and scientists, contributing to real-world projects focused on enhancing water quality and sustainability. Full training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior engineers and scientists with research and development initiatives related to desalination and advanced purification processes.
- Conduct laboratory experiments and pilot plant operations under supervision.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret water quality data.
- Support the preparation of technical reports, presentations, and project documentation.
- Learn to operate and maintain various water treatment equipment.
- Participate in site visits to observe and understand operational challenges and solutions.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of water treatment methodologies and practices.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and quality standards.
Required Skills
- Strong interest in water treatment, environmental science, or chemical engineering.
- Basic understanding of scientific principles and laboratory practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Eagerness to learn and adapt to new challenges.
Preferred Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a relevant post-secondary program (e.g., Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Environmental Science).
- Familiarity with data analysis software (e.g., R, Python, MATLAB).
- Previous experience in a laboratory setting (academic or professional) is an asset but not required.
