Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Auto Electrician to join our dynamic team in Wagga Wagga, NSW. This pivotal role involves performing diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on a wide range of Caterpillar heavy equipment used in mining and civil construction environments. You will be instrumental in ensuring the operational reliability and safety of crucial machinery, contributing directly to the success of major projects. Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair complex electrical faults on Caterpillar heavy earthmoving and civil equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and safety checks on all electrical systems.
- Install, test, and commission new electrical components and systems.
- Utilize advanced diagnostic tools and software to identify and rectify issues.
- Interpret electrical schematics and technical manuals accurately.
- Maintain accurate service records and documentation.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and company policies.
- Provide technical support and guidance to mechanical technicians as required.
- Travel to various client sites within the region, potentially including remote locations.
Required Skills
- Australian recognised Trade Qualification as an Auto Electrician.
- Minimum 3 years post-apprenticeship experience with heavy diesel equipment, preferably Caterpillar.
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret complex electrical schematics.
- Proficiency with diagnostic software and tools (e.g., CAT ET).
- Strong understanding of CAN bus systems and advanced electrical fault-finding techniques.
- Valid Australian Driver's License.
- Commitment to workplace health and safety.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with high voltage (HV) electrical systems.
- Confined Space and Working at Heights tickets.
- Forklift license.
- HR or MC class driver's license.
- Previous experience working on mine sites or large civil projects.
